Today marks an end to an incredible era as arguably the most decorated amateur in the history of the sport pulls the curtains on an illustrious career.

Boasting an amateur record of 396-1, many wondered what a pro career would look like as Lomachenko hit the scene in October of 2013. A little over a decade later, very few would say they were disappointed in any way.

A two-time Olympic Gold medalist, three-division World Champion, and all the other accolades earned can never truly capsulate the magic behind the man most affectionately knew as "The Matrix"!

Fight fans will never get the showdown with Gervonta "Tank" Davis that most craved, but true aficionado's would consider that Davis' lost, as Lomachenko did more than enough to place the proverbial 'feather' of success in his cap before finally deciding to walk away.

Despite the fact that he couldn't get "Tank" in the ring, he did share memorable nights with both Devin Haney, and Teofimo Lopez. While he didn't earn the nod in either affair, there's a strong argument to be made that he should have had his hand raised against Devin Haney.

The clash with Teofimo Lopez was a bit more decisive with little room to contest, despite Lomachenko coming on strong in an effort that was too little too late.

These two battles were only a few of many memorable nights in the career of Vasilliy Lomachenko.

As fans around the world absorb the reality of this announcement, we here at The VIP Crew would like to wish "Hi-Tech" an amazing retirement, and express full gratitude for a job well done!

All the best Champ,

The VIP Crew-
