Jeff Mayweather Chimes in on "Weightless" Exhibitions in Boxing, Mayweather/Pacquiao II a "Setup", and more!

Jeff Mayweather feels Mayweather/Pacquiao II is a "setup", and "weightless" exhibitions could become the norm"!

The VIP Crew: Do you feel Tank-Paul and the height and weight discrepancy that

came with that fight could spark other weightless exhibitions?

Mayweather: I think with the potential of that fight happening is why Floyd [Mayweather]

turned around and did that with Mike Tyson. It’s a hard way to sell a fight, but it’s the

same thing with Floyd and Mike because that’s the exact same fight. I don’t know if

they’re going to be able to sell that either.

The VIP Crew: Floyd has since softened his stance saying, “Anything is

possible,” and things like that as opposed to the certainty it seemed to once

have. Do you think that was just his way of poking fun at Roy Jones Jr. at the time

or a legitimate chance of the fight happening with Tyson?

Mayweather: I think it could be a little of both. To be honest, I don’t know. That’s still a

little weird to me (laughing). You’re going to jump in the ring with a man that outweighs

you by double your weight.

The VIP Crew: There is some chatter of a potential Mayweather- Manny Pacquiao

rematch for 2026. Any chance you think we get that rematch?

Mayweather: They can… it can possibly happen, but it’s a shame that, in boxing, you’re

still looking for two fighters who aren’t in this era and it will be the biggest fight out there

that’s made today. That’s weird. It doesn’t make sense to me. It’s one of those things. Unfortunately, a lot of people don’t like Floyd, so they’re putting him in a situation where

they want him to lose. That’s the only thing I see; I see it as a set up to lose. Floyd

played the bad guy for most of his career, but the hate is what made him a rich man.

Now, his career is over, with your career being over, it sounds like to me they’re just

trying to get him back, because who actually tries to promote a fight with two guys that

are way past their prime. They’re not even close to their prime, so unless there is a

hidden agenda, I don’t get it.

The VIP Crew: Do you want to wait until this stage of your life to give them that

satisfaction?

Mayweather: Right! They say he is losing money and hurting for money, but if Floyd is

losing money, why when they show all this stuff on YouTube, nobody is taking anything

from him? His garage is still full with all the damn cars, he still has a jet. I don’t know

how broke he could be. You look at YouTube, he ain’t got a penny. But the man who

ain’t got a penny, got a plane. Somebody lying and it sure in the hell ain’t him. It takes a

whole bunch of money just to fly a plane. Talking about him being broke is just wasted

conversation really. If the IRS or whoever was taking something from him, why aren’t

they showing it? The reality is this, a person that’s rich and mouthy like Floyd, they

would want to put him in the spot. They would show his stuff being taken from him. If it

was real, Floyd would take the Pacquiao fight. But that fight is over with. It’s done! Then

what are ya’ll going to do, a trilogy at 60?

That just goes to show how much people don’t want Floyd to win. He walked away from

boxing undefeated. And whether people wanna believe it or not, he is one of the

greatest fighters that’s ever lived. He earned that right. People talk that crap, he fought

this one, he didn’t fight this one, but he beat them all. No matter what you say about

who he beat, he beat a bunch of good fighters, and he beat more world champions than

anybody. He has the right to talk about himself that way, but nobody wants to hear him

talk about himself in that way. That’s the problem. They don’t wanna hear it come from him. That could be part of him selling himself as the bad guy for so long that he

probably don’t know no other way to sell himself. It was great when he did it during his

career because he never got beat and he proved everybody wrong.

The VIP Crew: Tell us about your new clothing line, KLEOS.

Mayweather: Definitely! KLEOS is a new clothing line that I’m trying to start. KLEOS

means legacy, and I think that within my family, it’s fair to say that we have a legacy. I

feel good about it. I’m hoping that it takes off. I have a partner that’s helping me with it,

and I hope that people go to the website, which is HOME - KLEOS and put their name

on the waiting list if they’re trying to purchase anything. It’s basically wearing your

legacy. And then we have a Mayweather Brand. Mayweather Brand is a T-shirt that is

me, Roger, Floyd, and Floyd Sr. all together at once, something that is very very rare. It

was very rare to see all of us together at once. That’s the Mayweather Brand. We’re

trying to do that as a limited edition, but who knows, that might outsell anything else we

do. That’s what I’m working on right now and staying busy trying to help these young

fighters get better and hopefully win a championship one day.
